About the New York Jets

A new season is upon us and the New York Jets are prepared to show how the past few years of defeat will not again be repeated. Although many injuries have taken their toll on the New York Jets players and Jets tickets have been less of a commodity, the 2006 Jets NFL season will bring this struggling team a new distinctiveness in the NFL. The New York Jets have brought on the youngest coach in NFL history, Eric Mangini, who promises that his coaching tactics will provide the Jets with great success. Jets tickets will start to sell fast with the new head coach and returning quarterback Chad Pennington. New York Jets fans, a devoted and rowdy group, are getting eager to get as many Jets tickets as possible to fill the Meadowlands and watch their team put on an amazing comeback.

The New York Jets have not always been known for their kelly green and white but actually began as the New York Titans in 1960. In 1963, because of low New York Jets ticket sales, the team almost went bankrupt. Sonny Werblin, MCA head, and Leon Hess bought the team from Harry Wismer on March 15. One month after, the Jets were in good hands and the "Titans" hired Weeb Ewbank as head coach. Ewbank was known for winning 2 NFL Championships in a row in 1958 and 1959, giving the New York Jets hopes for the future. With Ewbank the Jets beat out the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III in an upset that helped jump-start the franchise and made the Jets the first AFL team to beat an NFL team. In 1965 the New York Jets signed on quarterback Joe Namath who made the New York Jets the hottest football team in the NFL. In the media, the New York Jets are mostly remembered for the "Heidi Game" which was the 1968 game against the Raiders when NBC cut to the movie Heidi which caused everyone but the West Coast to miss the end of the game.

Since that time the New York Jets have had a less than average record and Meadowland tickets for the Jets havent been as highly sought after as their local rivals, the New York Giants. But the city of New York and the Jets fans have yet to give up on their beloved team. This year will put a different face on the Jets as promising head coach Mangini beefed up the offensive line with standout draft pick DBrickashaw Ferguson and others to ensure Chad Pennington the protection he has been lacking in past years. Also returning to terrorize opposing offenses is 2004 Defensive Rookie of the Year Jonathan Vilma. Be sure to be ready for the New York Jets new facelift with New York Jets tickets and pay attention because this may be the year for Jets fan to get those Super Bowl Tickets that have eluded them for so long.
