About the Buffalo Bills

Its that time again, the 2006 Buffalo Bills Football season is upon us. Again fans will rush to the Ralph Wilson Stadium with their Buffalo Bills tickets in hopes of many Bills victories. The Buffalo Bills have remained a sturdy team since their conception in 1959. For almost 50 years now the fans have flocked to Orchard Park, New York to watch the mind-blowing events that the Bills have to offer. Buffalo Bills tickets have always had a very high demand because of the magic displayed on the field. Through all this time the Buffalo Bills franchise has held tight to their name which was created from legendary western hunter and performer Buffalo Bill. The Buffalo Bills are remembered for many events, including their incredible 1964 record when the Bills allowed 913 yards rushing with 300 attempts at the time of their regular season.

Through the 70's the Bills had running back O.J. Simpson who became a franchised face for the Bills. The 70's also brought about the new logo for the Buffalo Bills which changed from a red Buffalo to the now powerful blue and red Bills logo that has brought about extreme excitement from Bills fans. The 80s caught a tremendous breakthrough for the Buffalo Bills when the season opener began with the victory over the Miami Dolphins which took the Bills 11 years to accomplish. Finally, in the 1986 Bills season, the team snagged Jim Kelly for quarterback who in 1990 brought the Bills to an incredible successful NFL run of 13-3. The Bills hit their famous winning streak in the 90s when the Buffalo Bills became known to be the only AFL team in history to play in the super bowl for four consecutive years. Regardless of this heroic streak, the Bills did not succeed to win any of the four Super Bowl titles.

The Buffalo Bills hoped that when they acquired Drew Bledsoe in 2002 that they would once again possess the high powered offense that they had with Jim Kelly. What they didnt realize was that Kelly had a running threat in Thurman Thomas that could suck the defense into playing the run. Now that Bledsoe has Willis McGahee in the backfield, opposing defenses cant cheat on their coverage. Bledsoe still has one of the most powerfull and accurate arms in football, while McGahee has fully recovered from a knee injury that sidelined him in 2003. With Eric Moulds coming back for another season, when Bledsoe isnt handing it off to McGahee he will be airing it out to Moulds on the deep ball.

The strong point for the Bills in 2003 was their defense, which returned in 2004 with a better offense to motivate them. Captain and safety Lawyer Milloy rounds out a secondary that is always near the top in turning the ball over and giving it back to the offense. Aqcuisition Sam Adams has been brought in to stop the run and Linebackers Takeo Spikes and London Fletcher will also help keep teams behind their own line of scrimmage. Last but not leats is corner Troy Vincent, a staple of the Eagles defensive backfield for years sent to the Bills to do some more damage. On both sides of the ball, Buffalo Bills ticket holders expected big improvements in 2004.

The Buffalo Bills are raring to kick off this season with numerous victories. After the 5-11 record in 2004, the Bills lost quarterback Drew Bledsoe and then also replaced general manager Tom Donahoe for Marv Levy in early 2006. The Buffalo Bills have a fresh new start to a successful 2006 AFC season with head coach Dick Jauron, quarterback J.P. Losman, and standout running back Willis McGahee. The 2006 NFL Draft also provided the Bills with safety Donte Whitner from Ohio State, Defensive Tackle John McCargo from North Carolina State along with many other strong additions to the Bills to provide the team with strong players on both offense and defense.
